Our neurodivergent-affirming group therapy is tailored to provide a safe space for neurodivergent adults, teens, and kids to explore their unique experiences. At Divergent Grove Therapy, we follow the neurodiversity affirming paradigm* and do not try to treat your Autistic and/or ADHD traits. We believe in honoring agency, autonomy, and nuance, and our approach normalizes sensory overwhelm, decision fatigue, shame spirals, and the beauty of deep feeling and nonlinear growth.
*When it comes to other forms of neurodivergence, such as OCD, for example, we recognize that our brains do lots of things to keep our bodyminds safe, including encouraging us to engage in compulsions. We honor and thank our bodyminds for taking care of us, AND if OCD is causing you suffering, and you'd like support with reducing the impacts that OCD has on your life, then we may take more of a "treatment" approach to working with OCD. While we take this approach, we validate where it came from. You will never be told you're wrong or stupid, or shamed for developing coping strategies for your survival.

Our neurodivergent group therapy sessions offer a supportive environment for individuals with neurodivergent traits to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. We provide a space to embrace strengths and limitations without judgment, and our approach is trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and rejection-sensitive-aware.
Groups can range from 4-10 people. If you join a group, you'll be with about 4-10 peers on a similar journey. Adult groups are for folks 18+. In the event that we offer groups for minors, we would group them by age or developmental level; high school aged, middle school aged, or elementary school aged.
Length
Groups are generally an hour and half long. They will either be 8-weeks long, or drop-in style. Drop-in groups mean you would only be committing to and paying for one group. For drop-in groups, you'd have the option to return to future groups.
Pricing
We are private pay, and offer limited sliding scale spots, as well as "superbills" once the group is complete, for you to submit to your insurance to request reimbursement. For more information about our fees, head here.
The cost of groups will vary by each group, generally our 8-week groups are $400 for all 8 weeks.

Ohhhh… This Explains SO Much: A Drop-in Group for Late Diagnosed Autistic and/or ADHDers
Facilitated by Alex McLaughlin, MSW, LICSW, CYT-500 (they/them) — a fellow late-diagnosed AuDHDer.
This group is a space for late-identified Autistic and/or ADHD adults — including those who are self-diagnosed — to gather, process, and just be with folks who get it.
Whether your diagnosis came last week or years ago, this group is for those who’ve spent a lifetime feeling “off” or “too much,” only to have the lightbulb moment hit: Ohhhh… this explains SO much.
Together, we’ll explore what it means to unmask, unlearn internalized ableism, reclaim identity, and hold space for all the grief, joy, rage, validation, acceptance and relief that comes with finding language for your experience.

Autistic Burnout? I barely even know her!

Facilitated by Alex McLaughlin, MSW, LICSW, CYT-500 (they/them) — a fellow late-diagnosed AuDHDer who also, barely knows her.
This group is a supportive space for Autistic adults (self-diagnosed included!) who are currently in burnout or hoping to prevent it before it hits full force. Together, we’ll share experiences, unmask gently, and co-create practical burnout recovery and prevention plans — all while laughing, validating each other’s weird little nervous systems, and reclaiming rest as a birthright.
Come crispy, come curious, come as you are. You don’t have to do this alone.
